We are currently searching for smart, motivated individuals who want to help workers fight for better working conditions, dignity on the job, and improvements in health care for all as a Staff Representative.
The Ideal Candidate
- Worked full time representing union members, preferably in health care, with demonstrated success at contract negotiations, grievances, and arbitrations.
- Ran effective contract campaigns, identifying and recruiting member leaders, organizing membership participation by developing and implementing strategies to involve union members in activities that build the union’s capacity.
- Can create effective internal communications and build external relationships with political allies, the community, and other constituents.
Responsibilities Include
- Prepare for and conduct collective bargaining, grievance processing and arbitrations.
- Work with and developing member leaders to represent nurses and health care professionals in employment-related matters.
- Build an effective local organization with power to fight and win workplace improvements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Staff Representative.
- Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends.
- Broadstripes and/or other database programs are a plus.
- Automobile and valid driver’s license.
- Willingness and ability to travel to other parts of the state.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Range is $83K – $136K, depending on experience.
Benefits: Employer-paid health insurance, generous paid time off, and a strong retirement plan.
