PHILADELPHIA, PA – In just two days, on Thursday, January 22 at 6:00 PM, the Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals (PASNAP) will join with 10 partner organizations to host a community forum to Save Our Healthcare, addressing the real and immediate consequences of expiring ACA tax credits and looming cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.
Congress failed to renew enhanced premium subsidies for insurance purchased through the Affordable Care Act marketplace by the December 31 deadline—putting coverage out of reach for countless families. Although the U.S. House of Representatives advanced bipartisan legislation on January 8, uncertainty remains, and communities are already feeling the fallout.
When people can’t afford health insurance, they don’t stop getting sick—they stop seeking care.
At the same time, proposed Medicaid cuts threaten access across Pennsylvania. Hospitals are closing beds and units, consolidating services, and in some cases shutting their doors entirely—placing patients and frontline healthcare workers at risk.
PASNAP and our partners refuse to stand by.
Join us on January 22 at Sheet Metal Workers Local 19 for a clear, community-focused breakdown of how these cuts affect patients’ wallets, access to care, and the future of healthcare in Pennsylvania—and what we can do together to fight back.

The Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals (PASNAP), represents more than 11,000 frontline nurses and healthcare professionals across Pennsylvania. PASNAP was founded 25 years ago on the belief that patients do better when critical care staff have a voice to advocate for their patients and themselves.
We use our collective strength to advocate for things like safe staffing, universal access to healthcare, and prevention of harassment and violence against healthcare workers. Our advocacy was instrumental in passing Act 102, Pennsylvania's ban on mandatory overtime for healthcare workers.
